Akkodis is seeking a Scrum Master for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity for a professional located in either the Orlando FL, Tampa FL or Arlington TX area.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Scrum Master Qualifications:

Duties & Responsibilities

Help manage and guide the Agile scrum teams. The Scrum Master will assist the self-organizing, self-managing teams to achieve goals by teaching and coaching team practices, implementing and supporting Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices, identifying and eliminating impediments, and facilitating flow. The Scrum Master will also work with the extended Scrum Master community, including Release Train Engineers to increase the effectiveness of SAFe across the enterprise.

Major functions:

• Help manage and guide the Agile scrum teams

• Understand the SAFe principles and apply the appropriate Agile approach to enable teams activities

• Reinforce the Agile Team rules, including Work in Process limits and any other process rules the team has agreed

• Facilitate team progress in improving quality, predictability, flow and velocity

• Help the team focus on achieving Program Increment objectives

• Facilitate team retrospective

• Coordinate team events such as Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective.

• Assist the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog

• Promote a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope

• Facilitate the removal of blocking issues

• Assist the teams in improving the quality of their deliverables and meeting the Definition of Done (DoD)

• Focus on improving team dynamics and performance, and coach the team in self-management

• Coordinate inter-team cooperation and help the team operate on the release train

• Represent the team in the Scrum of Scrums and help the team remain aware of opportunities to engage and improve program effectiveness

• Assist the team in preparation for Agile Release Team (ART) activities including PI Planning and System Demos

• Guide the team in establishing normalized estimates

• Help the team understand and estimate Features and Capabilities

Technical/Functional skills:

• Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

• Must be willing to work overtime

• Must be able to travel CONUS and to International sites for extended periods

• Must be able to travel via car and airplane

Education and Skills Requirements

  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of two years work experience with team leadership experience
  • Minimum of one year experience with agile tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
  • Experience leading software teams using Agile development methodology
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

    SKILLS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE CONSIDERED A PLUS

    • SAFe 5 Certification

    • Experience writing C++, C#, Java, or JavaScript

    • Experience with Angular JS, Node, Ext.js

    • Experience writing Ruby on Rails

    • Experience writing Python Scripts

    • Experience using OpenGL or WebGL

    • Experience working with service-based architectures

    • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure

    • IAT Level 2 Certification (e.g. Security +)

    • Experience with GDAL, GeoServer, OpenLayers or ESRI APIs

    • Experience with OGC Standards such as WMS, WFS, WPS, WCS, GeoPackage, 3D Tiles, IS3, or CDB

    • Experience with Presagis Products such as Terra Vista or Creator

    • Experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSLT, and JSON

    • Experience with development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or TSP

    • Modeling and simulation technologies such as SE Core CVEM, AVCATT, CCTT, JCATS, JTLS, MTWS, MUSE, VBS2, VBS3, CACCTUS, JSAF, OneSAF, JLCCTC

    • Experience with gaming technologies such as Unity 3D, Epic Unreal OBJ, FBX, Improbable SpatialOS, and similar capabilities
