Responsibilities What You Will Do: As a Scrum Master within Ascension Studio, you will serve multiple Agile teams to support the creation of products that exceed our customer's expectations. Join a successful team of Scrum Masters and Operational leaders within Software Engineering. In this role, you will support delivery of our robust suite of cloud-native applications in the rapidly growing healthcare software industry. In our Agile SAFe environment, you will apply your experience to support the discovery and delivery teams with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. At Ascension, your efforts will be making a significant contribution to the vital healthcare communities that we serve. Responsibilities: Serve as the Scrum Master for multiple teams who are creating cloud-native solutions on GCP and/or iOS, android or web based applications Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demos/retrospectives to support product development Collect and present Sprint, Change, Release and Incident metrics in various formats for different audiences For technical dependencies, lead large Scrum team, and cross-functional product teams, in assessing and resolving technical debt Strong ServiceNow production release experience Leveraging retrospectives, Sprint velocity and other data to create actionable plans for optimization or improvements Serve as a mentor and coach on Agile theory, principles, and best practices Remove impediments, obstacles and roadblocks in order to maintain the planned product releases Be a source of inspiration and foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork Maintain a safe environment, where everyone feels respected, empowered, and free to express their constructive thoughts and feelings. Ensure quality assurance is collaboratively planned, fully defined with test resources and approved Lead team in production release planning and prep, including vendor resources In collaboration with Product, Design and Engineering teams, lead PI Planning preparation Facilitate PI Planning and participate in ART events Monitor and collaborate vendor activities to ensure compliance with Sprint release expectations and team standards Maintain an attitude of commitment and exhibit responsibility for the needs of internal team, vendors and external customers Lead facilitation of Scrum teams in creation of Sprint boards, dashboard templates, best practices for collecting team metrics that empower growth (e.g., burndown, velocity) Facilitate Change Management production release and Incident Management support Required Experience: B.A/B.S degree or equivalent experience Scrum Master, advanced Scrum Master or SAFe certification 5+ years of experience playing the role of Scrum Master for 1-3 teams Agile mindset with strong knowledge of standard Agile, metrics, tools and processes Experience working with cross-functional teams that includes User Experience, Researchers, Product and Engineering across discovery and delivery backlogs Expertise with Atlassian JIRA/Confluence; managing backlogs and sprint boards, creating meaningful dashboards, collecting metrics Experience scaling Agile across multiple teams and groups Servant leadership and strong collaboration skills Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others Openness to new ideas and an unceasing desire to learn new things Outstanding interpersonal skills, a positive mindset, and a collaborative spirit are an absolute must Experience with collaborative tools such as Mural, Miro, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills Requirements Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required. Work Experience: 1 year of experience required. 4 years of experience preferred. 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred. Additional Preferences Desired Experience: Experience as a Scrum Master on a team developing cloud-native, scalable, and highly available distributed systems Understanding of professional software best practices for the full SDLC including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations Experience with SAFe PI Planning and other ART events (e.g., SoS, PI System Demos, etc.) Advanced Scrum Master or Agile Certification desired (ACSM, CSP, PMI-ACP, etc.) Strong experience with Quarterly (PI) Planning Expert level experience in Mural, Miro or other PI Planning tools in a SAFe environmentServiceNow experience is a nice to have Product Manager, Design or Software Development experiences a nice to have Advanced degree is a nice to have Characteristics We Seek: Be curious about technology, agility and operations.
