Position Summary:The MSI Scrum Master is a crucial role to support MSI's transition to working within an Agile Methodology. This person will be responsible for facilitating and leading our Scrum teams to success. They will act as a coach and facilitator for the team, helping to remove obstacles and promote a culture of continuous improvement.Principal Responsibilities:Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and RetrospectivesEnsure that the team is following the Scrum framework and adhering to Agile principlesAct as a liaison between the team and management, communicating progress and addressing any issues that ariseHelp the team to continuously improve by identifying and addressing any inefficiencies and impediments in the processCoordinate dependencies with appropriate Scrum teamsProvide appropriate coaching and mentoring to Scrum team members in the Agile journeyChampion change and foster an environment of continuous improvementSupport the Digital Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog and ensuring that priorities are aligned with business goalsEducation, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:3+ years' experience in business and/or operations involving strategic execution required.A Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.Strong understanding of Agile Methodology and the Scrum frameworkExperience as a Scrum Master or similar role required, insurance experience is a plusCertified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) designation highly preferredStrong leadership and coaching skillsExcellent communication and conflict resolution skillsAbility to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to understand, adapt, and analyze/execute change directives quickly.Demonstrated ability to understand and evaluate problems and present solutions required.Proven ability/desire to work within a team environment with results-driven approach required.Proven ability to develop and manage change management plans preferred.Proven ability to understand the internal climate of organizations, define the most productive channels of communication, and use such channels to achieve goals and objectives required.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel required.Demonstrates the firm's core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with corporate culture.Special Working Conditions:This is a full-time position that may require some flexibility in working hours to accommodate team meetings and deadlines.Fast paced, multi-task environment.Cross-functional with a very high degree of personal interaction.High use of project management technology and virtual team tools.Processes are becoming more well-defined as the company is working on a transition to an Agile/Scrum methodology.Self-motivation, proactive mindset, high-energy, and driving, yet flexible disposition is essential.Scrum Masters will work on a team with other Project Managers/Analysts/Scrum Masters with varying levels of expertise.
