As a strategic growth initiative for Trane Residential HVAC and Supply, the Digital Products team is developing software solutions that will transform the customer experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master that can act as a change agent leader in helping to take our product development teams to the next level in the adoption of Agile and Scrum practices. This position will be responsible for leading the efforts of the Product Owner and cross-functional development teams through all phases of the software development life cycle using Scrum. You will act as a servant-leader to the Scrum Team and facilitate Scrum Events while providing coaching to the teams. You will also work with other Scrum Masters and Agile Leadership to iterate on Agile practices and greater organization as we continue on our journey to deliver the best customer experience by becoming increasingly adept at practicing Agile methods.

The ideal candidate will bring previous experiences, best practices, a working understanding of Agile Principles, and a collaborative attitude to increase the effectiveness of assigned Scrum Teams. Keys to success include superior communication and facilitation skills, ability to coach Agile at multiple levels within the organization, problem solving, and motivating Scrum Teams to maximize value delivery.

Key Competencies

  • Track record of continued and recent education in Agile methodologies and/or Scrum

  • Excellent written and oral communication and facilitation skills

  • Proven leadership, coaching and mentoring skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Technically competent with tools such as Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Microsoft Office tools, and Miro

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum teams in all aspects of Scrum: planning, self-organization, collaboration & iterative development

  • Guide the team and organization on the use of Scrum practices and values to drive towards continuous improvement into an Agile mindset

  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to create, maintain, and promote consistent Agile practices across teams within the organization.

  • Assist with internal and external communication on practices and techniques used to foster agility within product teams and across the larger portfolio.

  • Support and educate the Product Owner, stakeholders, and product management in Agile principles and practices, especially with respect to value streams and product roadmaps.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, CSP, PSM-I)

  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution required, with a technical degree in engineering or computer science preferred

  • Experience using multiple formats to radiate information to the Scrum Team to promote accountability and continuous improvement

  • Familiarity with tools in the software development space such as Atlassian Jira (preferred)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
