The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for coaching and guiding development teams in Agile values, principles and frameworks; facilitating Scrum Team ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for holding Scrum Team members accountable to their commitments and ensuring transparency of Team(s) activities, impediments, setbacks and successes to key stakeholders. This position will play a key role in standing up teams and the planning and ongoing improvement of Scrum practices in the organization.

Accountabilities:

Serves as a Scrum Master on one or more scrum teams.

Collaborates with other teams, Project Managers and Portfolio Management on cross functional dependencies.

Facilitates Scrum ceremonies effectively, on cadence, while ensuring team participation.

Guides teams through the implementation of Scrum and provides training as needed; coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and suitable for the team and organization.

Guides the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality.

Helps educate and train employees at all levels, and at times clients, on Agile principles and frameworks.

Helps improve the team’s software development and delivery through a deliberate focus on continuous improvement and learning culture.

Helps onboard and mentor new Scrum Masters with less experience.

Removes impediments and protects the team from outside interruptions.

Qualifications and Experience:

5+ years’ experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum practices.

Expert in the Scrum framework and Agile techniques such as user stories, relative estimation, TDD, etc.

Proficient in Jira.

Scrum Master Certification CSM, A-CSM, PSM II equivalent or higher.

Strong skills in leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency.

Demonstrated ability to coach development teams in organizational environments in which Agile is not yet fully adopted and understood.

Demonstrated knowledge of large program/project management and experience in scaled Agile frameworks.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and work experience.
