Job Description: Scrum Master - local to Denver only, please!!

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location: Hybrid in Cherry Creek. Work in the office 2-3 days per week and home the rest. So you must be in Colorado.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

The department:

The Global Technology department plays a crucial role in supporting the success of the business. They are responsible for developing and implementing state-of-the-art software and hardware maintenance to support their fund management, trading, distribution and operational areas with secure, stable and resilient technology platforms.

Overview of the role:

My client has embraced an Agile framework for change development and implementation. This agile framework is being used to transversally enhance the release cycle, leading to a more efficient and scalable environment.

As the Scrum Master/Kanban coach you will be primarily responsible for working with several teams in building upon a new Scrum/Kanban framework. This will require facilitating key scrum events for the team while mentoring them on the process and purpose of each to grow knowledge and understanding of Agile concepts. In this role you will be responsible for aligning to transversal scrum deliverables, ensuring changes can be delivered and working closely with the development teams to ensure that impediments are cleared. This role will not only require excellent problem-solving skills, but you should also be able to see the strategic impacts of any cross-team dependencies and escalate where necessary. The role will require good communication and leadership skills as regular reporting with senior stakeholders is expected globally with core impacted teams being in the US and UK.

Duties and responsibilities:

You will:

  • Follow my client's framework and standards for scrum.
  • Raise standards through mentoring existing scrum team on standard methodology.
  • Provide day to day management of the scrum using relevant aspects of the Agile framework.
  • Work with Agile Release Manager to provide a single functional release per sprint cycle.
  • Understand and inspire change through the scrum team. Prioritise and manage associated risk and dependencies.
  • Implement standardized scrum reporting.
  • Chair the scrum team meetings delivering all relevant MI including but not limited to:
    • Capacity planning.
    • Backlog prioritization.
    • Trend analysis and recommendations for improvements.
    • Critical issues requiring management support.
  • Manage schedule, budget, risks, issues, status, resources, coordination and planning across teams, including external professional services partners.
  • Scrum Master activities of managing backlog, sprint planning, daily scrum as needed for non-development work.
  • Drive projects through the entire project lifecycle from idea through delivery and adoption.
  • Identify and co-ordinate project critical paths and identify/remove bottlenecks; identify and track issues and risks through to resolution.
  • Build and own the master program/project schedule and drive team accountability; planning and tracking of milestones, schedule, resources, dependencies, success criteria for each functional department across all phases of the program.
  • Create, maintain and report high-level program/project and project management maturity, standard methodologies and tools; with an emphasis on moving toward Agile.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications:

  • 5 years of Scrum Master related experience.
  • CSM or A-CSM certifications required.
  • Previous experience managing virtual and global distributed teams.
  • Experience working within a matrixed environment.
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency.
  • Experience working with multiple teams.
  • Experience managing multiple scrums at a time.
  • Experience in Asset Management.
  • Experience with CRM and vendor implementations.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and projects in a demanding environment.
  • Experience of working in a middle and back office outsourced environment.
  • Experience of delivering change related to market data.
